Dave Ireland

Dave is currently the Managing Director, Biodiversity Programs at the ROM where he has developed education programs for both teachers and students.  Dave has been a curator at the Toronto Zoo and was the co-ordinator of the Adopt-a-Pond wetlands educational program.  He holds a M.Sc. in Ecology from Trent University.  Over his career Dave has been at numerous conferences and events.  He is a lively and knowledgeable speaker and passionate about protecting biodiversity.

 

Shkode Eniigaan Waawaaskone – Kim Wheatley

kim wheatly croppedKim is Anishinaabe (Ojibway), Turtle Clan from Shawanaga First Nation Reserve.  Her commitment to the promotion of First Nation Traditional Knowledge supports her current role as the Aboriginal Programme Coordinator for Turtle Island Conservation at the Toronto Zoo.  Her diverse acomplishments include being a mother of 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters, Tent University graduate in Native Studies, member of the Aboriginal Advisory Circle for the Oshawa Health Centre and the Aboriginal Sport and Wellness Council of Ontario (ASWCO) member Aborigional Advisory Circle for the Oshawa Health.
